The first Ohm64′s are starting to come off of the line and we will soon be announcing availability. We are still working out one little bug with Windows XP (Vista and OSX are good to go) because Microsoft doesn’t really follow the entire USB-MIDI class compliant specification. Here are a few preview images of the very first Ohm64, more videos and images will be coming very soon.

We currently have a few hundred bodies cut from our supply of Jelutong, and we will be offering it in natural, red, blue, and unfinished so you can paint or stain it any color you want. This wood is amazing and we hope we can continue to find a good source of it. Stay tuned for more…

Here’s a video that runs through some of the possible controls of the Ohm64 using the Editor. I’ve been finishing up the Editor application on my Ohm64 prototype, and it’s working pretty well.

So while we are not shipping yet, we wanted to show “proof” of the all new MIDI DIY boards are in the house. Reminds me of summer camp when I was a kid. I went to a sleep-away called Camp Hi-Rock in New England every summer, where 4 square was very popular. Most of the campers were from the city, with Brooklyn representing the largest (and coolest) group of kids. When the Brooklyn kids would all take over the court it was “Brooklyn in the house”, I so wished I was in from Brooklyn then.
Enough with my storytelling and on to the important stuff. Here are some images of the new MIDI DIY board soon to be populated. We have our Pick and Place machine in full operation at the moment, but as soon as it is free these are the next things to go on the assembly line.

MIDI DIY Close-up
If you haven’t already read about it on the site, these are the all new MIDI DIY boards with a whole bunch of new features. We completely redesigned the MIDI brian in all of our products, and the MIDI DIY, besides the firmware, is no different then what you see in the new Ohm64 controllers. This board will let you direct wire 16 digital contacts (with support for up to 2048 with additional circuitry), 64 direct analog inputs (faders, knobs, sensors, etc.), 14 direct wire LED’s (with support for more with additional power, and it is all programmable with our editor software. It is also class complaint so no drivers are needed, total plug and play. We haven’t officially announced its released because it is coming after the Ohm64 release, but I wanted to give a sneak peek here and let you know it is coming soon.

Well we are not in France, though it would be nice. We jut received a new add from our French distributor Noizik and thought we would share it here. Noizik is really on the cutting edge of distributors and also distributes the Audio Cubes, and Mawzer controllers. If you haven’t seen the Audio Cubes, Peter did a bunch of tutorials using them for a Create Digital Music review.

If you are in France or really anywhere in Europe check out Noizik, these kinds of distributors really deserve our support.
