I have posted the source code for the Ohm64Editor application.  There are also some other examples in the zip file. These are all Max 5 patches for the most part, and make heavy use of the JavaScript object.

You can download it here.

Ohm64 Text Patch

June 6, 2009
Tags: , , , ,

So by now you have seen that it is possible to light up the LED’s on the Ohm64 with MIDI. The examples so far show software like Ableton lighting the button grid, but there are all sorts of other things you can do. Here is a patch that Pete made that has a few of those examples (we will be posting the source files for all of this very soon). This patch lets you use your computer’s keyboard to ‘type’ on the Ohm64 clip bank. It also has a circles mode that create a “wake” of circles from the last button pressed. There will be a lot of little things like this that we will be releasing and hope you will expand/create your own things to share.

Ohm64 Pick and Place

June 5, 2009

As the Ohm64 circuit boards are coming off the assembly line I shot some video of them being assembled. Last year we purchased our very own pick and place machine so we are able to do all of our own assembly work on demand. It is also really nice because we can do all of our own prototyping as needed. If you ever visit our shop or call us the sound you hear on this video is pretty much the soundtrack of Livid as this machine is running all the time. In this video the machine is placing the indicator LED’s on the Ohm64 button grid. After this the board goes into the reflow oven to complete the automated soldering. We then hand place and solder the potentiometers (faders and rotary knobs). We will eventually do a whole “how we do it” in depth video and share it with you here.

Ohm64 and Ableton Live Part 1

June 2, 2009

So when we first made the Ohm64 mini prototype in December Blake made a nice little Ableton Project to illustrate using the Ohm with Ableton. Here is a video showing a newer version of that project with Live and the Ohm64. This shows how you can use the grid to interact with your performance. Many more Live examples to come.
