Monome+Ohm64 = mono+ohm
With this nifty app (or use as source Max/MSP patch), you can use applications designed for the monome controller with your Ohm64. LED commands from monome apps (currently supported: /led /row and /col) are intercepted and converted to sysex for the Ohm64, and MIDI from the Ohm64 is converted to OpenSoundControl and sent to the monome applications. This opens up a whole new world of creative possibilities – I hope you find each and every one!
Of course, this only uses the 64 button grid. The rest of the ohm’s controls can be used for other applications or sounds, or for extending the opensource monome apps. Kick ass!
Max/MSP users can of course pull apart the source. I’ve simplified some of the Ohm64 LED control patching so it no longer relies on Jitter (meaning it doesn’t rely on Quicktime!), so this currently stands as a better example of sysex LED control than the FMSynth or Editor source code. Those will soon get updated with the method used in this patch.

Here’s a very simple example video showing it working:

So excited about this! How and where do I get it?
You can get the links in our forums here http://forums.lividinstruments.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=808
Thanks! So excited about this…
I’ve got it installed, but am not sure how to use it. Would you mind posting simple instructions for using mon+ohm in the forums?

Bump. The link to the instructions previously posted is broken.
It would be nice to have a concise description of how to get the Ohm64 working with Monome apps, as claimed. I have had an Ohm64 for quite a while, and admittedly, I put this particular project on the backburner, but I have yet to see the LEDs working properly with the Monome or other Ohm64-specific apps, not to mention work as a controller either.
The Ohm64 unit is solid, sending reliable MIDI signals to Live and other apps, but the software written to intercept and translate the signals into Monome-speak for the apps AND/OR the software to intercept the Monome app signals and convert them into messages to turn the LEDS on or off has never worked as described for me.
I hope to find instructions that describe how to do this exactly, since I believe I am doing everything correctly and still no controlling and getting light feedback from the Ohm64/Monome app combo.
what app are you trying to use?
