Hi,

I am not even sure if it's a problem of the editor: I am trying to make a MIDI-mapping for a lighting-software called Cuelux. I have severe problems with the LED for button G1 (upper left corner of the button grid). I have programmed midi feedback (LEDs on/off) using note on/off messages. The messages that get send from the software to the Ohm64 are correct (looked at it with MIDI Monitor). Now comes the funny part: If I reset the ohm to factory settings everything works fine with the LED for button G1, but as soon as I change something in the editor and commit these changes to the Ohm64 the LED for G1 no longer works. I have to revert to factory settings to make the LED work again. This is really bad, because I had the idea to draw a layout on the button grid with LEDs that stay on all the time, but I just cannot save it without loosing the LED of G1. I hope it's just an editor problem and not something with the controller...

Thanks a lot for any hints,

Ben

Yeah that diode looks like it will work. I am using this diode http://bit.ly/95dy0o for a comprehensive tutorial I am working on right now.

You'll want to use pulldown resistors to reduce noise as well. If you use our breakout board with a matrix there are spots on the board for these resistors http://wiki.lividinstruments.com/wiki/Breakout_Board#The_Button_section

@MickoLX are you part of the Brain beta testers? We didn't have kits when we sent those out, but if you send me an email I can have it sent along with midi jacks.

No, we don't support the dvx codec. it's a codec that resolume, I think, made on their own, and is not a general purpose codec. I believe that it simply codes QT frames into compressed textures for OpenGL, thereby taking advantage of the video card to decompress.
I would stay with PhotoJPG, as it simply will be the easiest codec to decompress on the cpu. Feel free to experiment with h264, but I would be surprised if it worked well!

Hi,
I'm not quite clear, but it seemsyou have Max/MSP and you tried your camera with jit.dx.grab?
The "vmode" message is not a problem. It's simply that it's a command that jit.qt.grab understands, but jit.dx.grab does not. I don't bother filtering it because it's not really important.
The windows version uses dx.grab, so installing the winvdig won't help.
If you go to preferences/general and turn slide show mode on or off, does that change the flaw in the image ithat I see in cell_glitch_1.jpg?

still stuck with this issue, i installed directx hopin g that would fix the problem since it seesm that cell uses the jit.dx.grab command...

however even with this loaded and being able to use the jit.dx.grab function to pull in video.. it stil doesn't work in cell dna ?

Cell DNA keeps throwing an error
jit.dx.grab : doesn't understand "vmode" so it seems that when i am trying to open up the video input it is passing a bad message to the jit.dx.grab function how ever when i look at the source it isn't passing that message at least from what i can tell.. don't know what is going on in the js getos.js object but it seems like a likely source...

i am having problem with cell dna and capturing video input from my built in web cam.

i am using a new asus laptop with windows 7 64 bit installed in it .

now the web came works with its bundled software, so i know the drivers are installed ! my issue is when i open cell and go to the pref setting...

under video input it shows two options from the top drop down window

these are the two options :
Asus virtual camera
USB 2.0 UVC 1.3M WebCam

however for the input section there is no options ?

i tried to install winvdig ... the free window app that allows you to caputre video inot a quick time movie ( since it is needed for video input with max/msp .. the prograaming lang that cell is built around ) but that hasn't helped.

any ideas would help!

also worth noting that i have tried this with both celldna beta 2.0.2 and 2.0.1 both of which didn't solve the problem. also i am going to try running a firewire camrea into it later .

I't works perfect now! Well, I'm sorry and embarrassed to have to answer yes to your question! But your question made me open my oddly shaped Block against my will and check the shield connections. I didn't want to open the case afraid of destroying anything until I get the new case for my Block. I'm happy for this easy solution. The case is so skewed and curved that it actually bent the shield glued to it's bottom. Thank you for encouraging me and I will try to cut down on embarrassing myself. John.

When playing only the buttons on my Livid Block it also sends out MIDI information as if I was turning the K2 Rotary knob (second from the left). Is this right?
The Block is mapped with "Factory Reset" and the screendump is from Midi Monitor with K2 knob set at value 100 and then played only with buttons! If playing LividStep with this setup I can see the volume slider making very small and erratic movements. Is this a hardware or software problem? BlockEditor or firmware? I suspected something because of erratic behaviour in LIvidStep and saw it when having problem transfering presets in BlockEditor. (I still have to move between computers because BlockEditor and monomeBridge crashes on my MacBook Pro Mac OS X 10.6.2)

What i want to do: Use 2 OHM64 at one pc to use the same functionality on both. The thing is if i perform alone i use one OHM64, but if i want to perform with my buddy it looks kinda stupid if we both stand in front of one OHM64, so we want to use two of them.

Issue: All USB ports are already in use so i can't plug the second OHM64 in !! What i understood is that it's not possible to power the OHM64 without a PC and use the midi out.

So .. how can i do this ???

Hi! Apologies for sending that post twice. Not sure how that happened?

This thing with the entire menu not being visible is really annoying - especially when playing out live. There's nothing I can do about it! Like I was using the sound trigger and couldn't switch off the treble input as the OFF option was not appearing on the screen.

If you check the attached pics you'll see what I mean...

Any ideas how to fix it?

Ta!

Hi Peter! So any reason why it's flipping? Funny thing is I flipped them over to be OK in QT Pro but when I played those files in Serato's Video SL they flipped back to upside down. The same files played OK in Union.

Must be some weird QT glitch...?

For those without Max For Live, I've been working on a standalone version of this so you can direct the output over IAC or MIDI Yoke (or to outboard gear). Even if you do have max for live, you might find this standalone easier to integrate into your setup, sending MIDI to tracks in your existing setup and syncing to Live's midi clock and start/stop messages.

The standalone application lets you send each of 8 sequences to any MIDI port & channel, and has an interface for sending program and bank changes. This could be used in conjunction with a VST or other plugin host. (I've been testing with the OS X AU general midi synth. Nothing like a crappy GM synth to make your day!)

Thirty-two presets let you store combinations of sequences, program changes, etc... pretty much all settings.

Please post your findings here
