Hi Peter. Midi spy tells me that the A and B buttons are receiving 127 for 'on' and then '0' for off when the assigned buttons on the Korg are pressed. The problem is that absolutely nothing happens. Both the A and B buttons remain unlit and unselected. Everything else is working perfectly, the effects and crossfade slider, so it's really odd.

Let me know when that will be available, I'll make sure I buy the correct version! Meanwhile, I've noticed with the 'meshtronic' effect, that it sometimes reacts perfectly with the clip, in terms of the grid moving with the image, but sometimes it remains static, merely changing colour. Is that likely to be more of an issue with the graphics card I'm using (and my laptop in general), than with the software itself? Incidentaly, I've looked at every conceivable VJ software over more time than I care to remember and I think that those from Livid are by far and away the best...

Thanks for your reply. I downloaded the version from the link, but the A and B buttons still don't respond to midi.....
Could you confirm that the A and B crossfade buttons on the new 2.0.1 DNA version, respond to midi when using OHM or Block? That way I will know that it's my korg kontrol that's at fault. Is there a way of getting the earlier version of DNA without the A and B buttons. Thanks.
Hi, sorry for the delay in responding to this. Busy week!
I just tried assigning notes and cc's to the A/B buttons in DNA 2.01. Using MIDI learn I assigned note 4 to A and cc 13 to B.
When I press note 4, it turned on A, and then I pressed it again, it turned it off.
I then sent cc 13 value 127, which turned on B, then sent cc 13 value 0, which turned it off.
Other combinations worked as expected (note 4, A=on, cc 13 127, B=on, A=off, etc.)
So, yeah, it's working here!
I also tried it with the Ohm64 attached, and mapped the A/B to the L/R crossfader buttons. Worked like a charm!
Why do you want an old version? I suppose it's possible, but I am reluctant.
Hi and thanks for getting back to me. Well, I've spent hours trying to get the A and B buttons to respond to midi, to no effect. It doesn't matter whether it's cc, note, button behaviour, whatever, they don't respond, even though midi spy says its receiving 127 on, 0 off. So until I can sort it out, which I suspect will involve buying a new controller, if I could get the older version without the A and B buttons it would at least work with the current controller which operates everything else perfectly, transport, effects etc etc.
I thought everything else worked besides the A/B for you? I had previous confirmation from you that the MMC worked?
Hi Peter. Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. The Korg controller operates everything perfectly, all the transport buttons, + the crossfader, and I can assign control knobs to operate all of the effects. It's just the a and b buttons which for some reason don't respond..
Ok, sorry, I was confused by your need for the old version then, which doesn't have the A/B. A/B is purely optional - if you never touch those buttons, then v 2.01 will behave as 1.52...
I'm still quite confused by the A/B problem (as are you!). If the Korg is sending notes, as displayed by the spy, then it should be ok. By "doesn't respond", do you mean that if you enter MIDI learn, select "A", (optionally hit the delete key to erase any current settings), then send MIDI, it doesn't learn that cc or note? Or will it learn the note, but just not respond once you exit MIDI learn??
Hi Peter. Sorry for the delay. I'm in the UK so there's a big time difference! Yes, when you select 'A' and press the button that you want to assign on the Korg, it sends the cc and the 'A' button acknowledges the signal and displays the number of the korg button. So it learns the cc, but simply does not respond on exiting MIDI learn. If I was doing something wrong, then none of the other buttons/knobs would respond on DNA, but they all do, so it's really strange. As I say, MIDI spy shows that when I press the button on the Korg (set to 'toggle'), it displays 127 for on, and 0 for off. Weird. I'm sure if you were here you could get it sorted in no time! It's a mystery to me...
