OhmModes Remote Script for Ableton Live
OhmModes turns the Ohm RGB and Ohm64 into three virtual control surfaces for Ableton Live, geared towards Mixing, Playing, and DJing. Manual included in the zip file, or you can refer to the wiki.

Installation notes:
MAC – Right click on the Live App icon and put the Ohm64 (or block or Code) folder in Contents/App-Resources/MIDI Remote Scripts
Windows > C:\Program Files\Ableton\Live \Resources\MIDI Remote Scripts
When you open live go to the preferences and select Ohm64 (block,Code) in the control surface preferences, and the input/output prefs.

Monomodular

Reason 4 Remote Files
These installers provide the necessary files so the block and Ohm64 is automatically mapped to devices in Propellerhead’s Reason. You can designate the block or Ohm64 as the master keyboard as well as navigate the software. Every device has a unique mapping, and is detailed in the PDF manual.

Duplex for Renoise 2.6
Duplex is a flexible system for using external controllers in Renoise and supports the OHM64 controller. It’s based on Renoise’s built-in scripting, so anyone can extend and modify the implementation.

LividSampler v3 beta
A simple and extremely easy to use sampling application lets you easily assign and edit sounds for each button in the 64 button grid of the Ohm or block controllers. The standalone will automatically detect the Ohm64, block, or Code controller – no hardware setup or MIDI learn necessary. Plug in takes notes 0-63 to play each sound.

Arkaos has just released a new version of Grand VJ with support for the Ohm64. The nice people over at Arkaos have taken our controller and added native support for it by creating a template that automatically maps the controller to the software and send messages back and forth to show the playback status. Setting it up and using it is very easy, but I made a video anyway to show just how easy it is.

I just made a video showing the Ohm64 working with Arkaos’ GrandVJ. The Ohm64 plays very nice with GrandVJ. The original Ohm grew out of a dedicated VJ performance instrument and was designed for two handed control so using the Ohm64 with GrandVJ is really intuitive and easy. Yes the Ohm64 does come with our DNA VJ software, but that is no reason not to use it with other software, that is our intention. We design our controllers to be adaptable control surface whether you are dj, vj, musician, or performer. We also encourage uninteded use, so if you have another use for it such as remote controlling a 1977 Trans-Am, lets see it! So here is the video, I am not an experienced ArKaos user, so I am sure you can come up with something a lot cooler, but this should give you an idea of how easy to use it is.

It is good to see other VJ software following the same path as the audio world. As you saw in my intro video the block controller works out of the box with Ableton Live, it sends and receives MIDI and so does the block so the lights react to clip status. Our DNA software does the same thing so it can work with our controllers right out of the box, no need for setup or configuration. Now in the latest beta Arkaos Grand VJ add MIDI output and after never using it I was able to make a quick demo to show you how easy it is. They also have OSC support, which is really nice to see. This works the same on the Ohm64 and Block as shown in the video below.
